The 5th Annual Plein Air Festival at the Lighthouse Art Center
March 3rd through 11th marks the 5th Annual Plein Air Festival at the Lighthouse Art Center. “Plein Air” painting simply stands for the art of painting outdoors amongst the fresh air. The aim of the artists is to capture their surrounding environment, the nature, wildlife and ambience of the natural environment that surrounds them.
With the theme of the “plein air” technique, the Plein Air Art Festival offers guests a weekend of relaxation, art, beautiful weather and fun. More than 40 artists will be displaying their works of art. These artists come from all over the nation to compete in this multi-day juried exhibition. Any day that you come out to the 5th Annual Plein Air Art Festival at the Lighthouse Art Center is sure to be fascinating. See the artists paint in the moment to capture their perspective of the beautiful beaches, lighthouse and waterways. Guests will be able to walk throughout the festival to watch the artists at work, buy art and take place in demos and workshops as well. There is even a ticketed VIP Collector’s Reception.
This year’s judge is a renowned local artist and winner of last year’s festival, Nancy Tankersley. She will be judging all of the accepted artists and will have the opportunity to grant the winners over $15,000 in awards.
