Constitution Park
Located in Tequesta, Constitution Park is a popular place for children to play. Firstly, the park is gorgeous, and many rave that it’s the prettiest park they’ve seen. Tons of palm trees line the sidewalks, which lead to both a toddler playground and a “big kid” playground. The toddler playground offers 4 toddler swings and a play area with slides, rock climbing, and chimes. Conveniently, there are benches for parents to sit on, as well as a quaint pavilion area between the two playgrounds. The Big Kid playground has two tall slides, rock climbing, ladders, and much more. This playground is designated for ages 5 and up. There are also basketball courts at Constitution Park and a jogging trail.
Blowing Rocks Nature Preserve
Blowing Rocks Nature Preserve can be found in Hobe Sound, just north of Tequesta. Known as a barrier island sanctuary, Blowing Rocks is home to a large number of endangered plants and animals, including loggerhead, green, and leatherback sea turtles. Limestone is nestled along the shoreline, in addition to colorful mangroves, natural habitats, pelicans, osprey, crab, and other marine creatures. The beach itself is secluded and quiet with limited parking. Kids love watching the waves come crashing through the giant rocks on shore.
Jonathan Dickinson State Park
Jonathan Dickinson State Park is another fun stop for kids who enjoy wildlife in Hobe Sound, just minutes from Tequesta. It features 13 different natural communities such as sand pine scrub, pine flatwoods, mangroves, and river swamps. Biking is available, which kids always love, and there’s also equestrian and hiking trails. For those who enjoy the water, kayaking, fishing, and canoeing are permitted. There are also boat tours on the Loxahatchee River, wildlife viewing, camping, cabins, and tours. Also notable for kids is the playground in the RV Campground.
Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum
The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum offers climbing tours of the historic landmark, and there is nothing like seeing the world from the top. Many visitors recommend climbing at sunrise or sunset to catch the beautiful views. There is also a Lighthouse Keeper’s Workshop, Tindall Pioneer Homestead, and Seminole Chickee. The Museum Gift Shop offers a multitude of fun, educational opportunities, such as Lighthouse books, clothes, and other gifts. There’s also a Lighthouse Story Time for Kids and Sunset and Moonrise Tours.
