Tour Pros Reveal All in Anonymous Poll
Golf.com conducted a survey with Tour pros on the PGA, Champions, and LPGA Tours. They provided them with anonymity and asked them some hard hitting questions. What we got was 100% honesty on everything from who will win more majors between Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy to would golfers vote for Hillary Clinton in the next Presidential election if she lowered taxes. Here are some of the highlights from the survey.
PGA Tour pros were asked "Who is more likely to win 19 majors: Tiger or Rory?" The Jupiter Island resident was given the upper hand on that one with 76% of the Tour pros surveyed thought Tiger would get to 19 first. Considering that Tiger currently has 14, while Rory only has four, I would tend to agree with them there.
53% of Tour pros think that Phil Mickelson will win a U.S. Open before his career is over, with more than a few thinking it will happen as soon as this year at Chambers Bay. The PGA Tour pros were also asked who they thought were the most overrated on underrated golfers on their tour. They thought that both Ian Poulter and Rickie Fowler were the most overrated at 24% each, while 11% of the golfers polled felt that Bill Haas was the most underrated. When asked about being considered overrated this week at The Players Championship, Loxahatchee River resident Rickie Fowler said "I guess top-5s in four majors aren’t that good. Like I said, I’ll take care of my business and I’ll be just fine.”
They were also asked who they felt should have been the next Ryder Cup Captain. Despite being passed over for Davis Love III, the general consensus was that Fred Couples should have been named captain, getting 48% of the vote.
