Healthier Jupiter, a Palm Beach County organization promoting healthy lifestyles to lower the risk of diabetes, has partnered with the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound to put on a guided nature walk at the park!

The walk will be along the beautiful nature trail in the main river area of the park. Hike the dunes to get to high elevation where you can see forth for miles. Travel along the Loxahatchee River, Florida's first federally designated Wild and Scenic River, which runs throughout the park.

Knowledgeable guides will explain the natural and cultural history of the reserve and take you on an exploration of the park's various habitats. Learn about the species that can be observed in the park including deer, foxes, bobcats, otters, turtles, and alligators.

Stick around after the walk and hang ou at the concession stand for some healthy treats and an awesome view of the river. The event welcomes people of all ages and physical activity level.

This is a great way to spend some time with family and friends outdoors especially with this beautiful Florida winter weather!

The walk is today, January 5th, at 3 p.m.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park:16450 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound, FL33455.
