We're almost to the end of beach season in South Florida (although, as always, it's sure to make a quick return). Here's our guide to what you need to bring to your next day at the beach.

Let's start with the obvious: you need to bring sunscreen, flip-flops, and a beach towel. But what else can/should you bring?

Waterproof Phone Case

Ever wanted to bring your phone into the ocean to take a few selfies? Now you can with waterproof phone cases. Today the cameras build into our phones are so good there is hardly any reason to bring an underwater camera. Just buy a waterproof phone case and you're good to go!

Leave-In Hair Conditioner

Beach days can be very hard on your hair. Sun exposure alone can cause lasting damage, but add salt water and wind and you've got a recipe for frizz and dryness. Some people like the way salt water makes their hair looks. If, however, you don't, look into getting some leave-in hair conditioner before your next visit to the beach.

Portable Phone Charger

Portable phone chargers are a great thing to keep on hand whether you're spending a day at the beach or on the boat. No one wants to get caught running out of batteries!

Waterproof Beach Bag

Some people make the mistake of carefully packing all their electronics and valuables away in a beach bag only to discover later that it's soaking wet and everything inside is ruined. Don't let it be you! Look into buying a waterproof beach bag.

If You Have Kids You'll Want To Bring

Sand toys (with EXTRA shovels): Always have way more shovels than you need. Kids will flock to your toys and you don't want fights over who gets to use the shovel. Shovels are also known for handle breakage – so extras never hurt.

Picnic blanket or a beach towel: When it comes to picnic blankets and beach towels, the bigger the better. Also, don't forget that if you're planning on going in the water you are also going to want to bring an extra-towel to dry yourself/your kids off because the one you've been sitting on all day is sure to be pretty sandy.
