Wycliffe Golf and Country Club Hosting Honda Classic Pre-Qualifier

Wycliffe Golf and Country Club in Wellington has been selected to host the Honda Classic Pre-Qualifier on its East Course. The Pre-Qualifier will take place on Thursday, February 18th. The top 25 golfers and ties from the Pre-Qualifier will advance to the Monday Qualifier at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach.
“The South Florida PGA is very excited to have named Wycliffe Golf & Country Club as one of three venues to host the 2016 Honda Classic Pre-Qualifier on February 18," Christopher Gilkey, Tournament Director for the South Florida Section of the PGA said. "Wycliffe’s excellent course conditions as well as the immaculate facility, lend it self to the playability of the tournament.”
The East Course at Wycliffe Golf and Country Club is a par 72 Karl Litten design that is just under 7,000 yards. This is the first time that Wycliffe is hosting a Honda Classic Qualifier.
“We’re are very honored to be hosting the 2016 Honda Classic Pre-Qualifier on February 18 in conjunction with the South Florida Section PGA. The Honda Classic is a very big deal in the golfing world and for our Club. The players that will be competing are some of the most talented in the game today. Our pristine East Course is a perfect venue for this tournament. We’re taken all the necessary steps to make sure that the players and officials are happy and playing at their optimal level," Director of Golf at Wycliffe Golf & Country Club, Darryl Jack said.
The Honda Classic is the first event of the Florida Swing and features one of the best non-major fields on the PGA Tour every year. This year's event will once again be held at PGA National and will take place February 25th through the 28th.
