There's no escaping the fact that when it comes to food trends, South Florida is a bit behind the curve. Boca Raton is a foodie city. Boca Raton residents and visitors expect the trendiest, or at the very minimum, the freshest and best-prepared food.

The Gluttonous Goat is a gastropub in east Boca Raton. A restaurant brings a Florida-focused aspect to the epicurean scene with modern American comfort food with a wicked Caribbean-Creole-Asian twist.  One of the fastest growing restaurant trends today is the gastro-pub. This venue combines imaginative, upscale culinary techniques with the casual dining experience of a pub. The moniker is a fusion of gastronomy and pub, coined in the early 1990’s.

The locations design is vintage-industrial with a relaxed al fresco courtyard. The Gluttonous Goat stays true to its namesake by offering -- what else? – goat.  One enjoyed dish off the menu is an all-day-braised jerk goat leg with coconut ginger mashed potatoes, spicy tomato jam, and curry nage or try a pan-roasted monkfish. The food is a creative deconstruction of comfort food and drinks.

Don't forget about the craft beer. The Goat offers plenty of local brews and national brands like Oaked Arrogant Bastard, and Left-Hand Milk Stout and more.

The Gluttonous Goat is located at 99 SE Mizner Blvd., Boca Raton 561-923-9457, gluttonousgoat.com.
