On the middle of Hutchinson Island, where the beaches are still lined with miles of flowing green Casuarina trees, there's a preserve called Frederick Douglass Memorial Park where you can horseback ride along the shoreline of stunning blue water.

On the third Wednesday of every month, you can take an adventurous tour of the Loxahatchee River with the River Center!

Hop aboard a vessel from Aqua Adventure Tours along with a naturalist from the River Center who will tell you all about the waterway, its ecosystems, and different area species. 

The Loxahatchee is a 7.6-mile river that starts out freshwater, meanders through brackish estuaries, through the Jupiter Inlet, and empties out into the Atlantic Ocean. Starting Aug. 1, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse will be featured on every new Visit Our Lights specialty license plate sold by Florida’s Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. There is a $25 annual special fee for the plates, in addition to registration fees. Proceeds benefit the Florida Lighthouse Association, a nonprofit that supports the preservation of the state’s lighthouses. Car owners can get the new plate in the 90 days before their renewal date.

The current, original version of the specialty plate, available for purchase since 2008, depicts the striped St. Augustine Lighthouse. The new version showing the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse should be available for at least the next 10 years.
