Boating Safety Class This Weekend For All Ages
The River Center in Jupiter collaborates with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary several times a year to provide a series of Boating Safety Classes. The classes are targeted to attract young boaters in our community, however the class welcomes all ages who want to learn the importance of safety on the water.
The classes are put together through the sponsorship of the AustinBlu Foundation, a non-profit aimed to raise awareness and to promote educational programs and classes for boating safety.
The class will be held this Saturday, June 16th at The River Center in Jupiter. The class will take place in a classroom in a lecture style learning. The State of Florida requires that any person born after January 1, 1988 who wishes to operate a vessel of 10 horsepower or more must pass an approved boater safety course. At the end of the class, the students are required to pass a test to receive their approved Boater Safety Card issues by the State of Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The cost to attend the class is free, but a deposit of $10 dollars is required to reserve your seat in the class. The deposit will be returned in full to everyone who attends the class. Check in for the class starts at 8 am.
