CANVAS, known as the nation’s largest outdoor art museum, brings together contemporary artists, art influencers, and collectors from around the world.
CANVAS transforms spaces into interactive art pieces and full story art within cities. These works of art bring the artist and community together to create icons painted and sculpted throughout the area.
Thanks to the outdoor museum, West Palm Beach has been the destination for artists from all over the world to display their work.
CANVAS brings together artists to install and create permanent outdoor art exhibits in downtown West Palm Beach. These works of art include statues, sculptures, or murals and can last for at least a year or more depending on what was created.
According to data provided to CANVAS by the city, the artwork has helped contribute to the millions of economic dollars generated by the culture and art industry in Palm Beach County.
Now the massive show is planning on making its way into Lake Worth. CANVAS will take over Lake Worth beginning November 26th, with the artists planning to complete their masterpieces by December 2nd. The art work will be installed and created starting from Lake Worth Beach to City Hall and all along Dixie Highway.
Lake Worth hopes that this will help boost tourism and make downtown a popular destination all year round.
The theme for the artist this year is ‘Unity’ and how the art brings people together. CANVAS hopes to expand to more cities in the country in the future.
CANVAS is also hosting a benefit for CANVAS Art Charities on Friday, December 1st at the Old Palm Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens. The event is called ‘Cirque du CANVAS’ and will feature gourmet food trucks, live entertainment, silent auctions, live painting, and Cirque du CANVAS performances from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Tickets are $250 dollars a ticket and are required for the charity event.
