Thousands of Palm Beach County residents will honor Martin Luther King, Jr. today, January 18, 2022. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Baptist minister and social rights activist in the United States in the 1950s and 1960s. He was a leader of the American civil rights movement, encouraging equality. He organized peaceful protests as leader of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, including the March on Washington in 1963. Dr. King led the civil rights movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by assassination in 1968. 

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, multiple events are scheduled today.

The Society of the Four Arts located at 100 Four Arts Plaza, Palm Beach is home to peaceful, colorful gardens that you can visit. Additionally, the Garden Club of Palm Beach offers free community events. Both the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden and Four Arts Botanical Garden are free entry!

Downtown West Palm Beach has about a week before the Sandi, 700-pound Christmas tree display must be removed. This also holds true for the giant Ferris wheel on the great lawn. Thousands have flocked to see the festive lights, live music, holiday displays, and music light show on the waterfront.
