Yes, indeed it seems just about every little thing has a national day.  So, it should come as no surprise to Jupiter residents that there is a National Violin Day too! There are more than 1,500 national days, weeks, and months to be celebrated each year, according to the folks who run the National Day Calendar website. Just about anything you can think of has its own day.

The violin, which comes from the Medieval Latin word “vitula,” meaning “stringed instrument”, has a recognizable tone and appearance. We must never forget Pearl Harbor. It was one of the most pivotal moments in our country’s history. Pearl Harbor was called Wai Momi (“Pearl Waters”) by the Hawaiians because of the pearl oysters that once grew there. The unprecedented attack on that day, December 7, 1941, temporarily crippled the U.S. Fleet and resulted in the United States’ entry into World War II.

Pearl Harbor is a U.S. naval base near Honolulu, Hawaii, that was the scene of a devastating surprise attack by Japanese forces on December 7, 1941. Just before 8 a.m. on that Sunday morning, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes descended on the base, where they managed to destroy or damage nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight battleships, and over 300 airplanes. More than…

It is farmers market season again in Palm Beach County, and there is one opening this weekend in Jupiter. This weekend marks the start of the season for J-Town Farmers Market. Previously known as the Jupiter Markers Market at El Sol.  The market will be open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the end of April at the El Sol Neighborhood Resource Center parking lot, 106 Military Trail in Jupiter.

The community garden coordinator at El Sol, selected longtime Jupiter resident, Cliff Ross, to run the event. Ross wants to attract local vendors, mainly because the market is in what he calls the “heart of town”. That is how the new name came into play as Ross thought "J-Town" gave it a nice local feel.

Expects J-Town Farmer’s Market to have booths…
