History enthusiasts and carpenters are assembling the concluding touches to the former Henry Flagler Train Depot as they preparing to open on August 1, 2015 at Sawfish Bay Park in Jupiter, Florida.

The train depot has been re-built out of pine from North Florida, along with diamond shaped shingles and hardware that is very closely related to what was used a century ago. “The work has included gutting the interior, installing a new roof, painting, repairing fire damage, adding a deck and other repairs on the structure that was built in 1915. There was lots of fire damage,” said retired Lantana architect Don Edge, who is among many individuals and companies that donated time and material for the reconstruction of the one-room structure.”

You can get an up close and personal encounter with thousands of turtles every Wednesday through Saturday in June and July right here in Palm Beach County. These guided turtle walks allow visitors to learn about and observe the nesting and egg laying process of sea turtles.

A very special and very colorful art installation is making its way to the Waterfront in Downtown West Palm Beach. “The Pool” by artist Jen Lewin is a gorgeous, interactive art installation that has made its way around the nation and will now be right here in sunny, South Florida for a few months. West Palm Beach Waterfront is calling the summer activity “A Summer in Paradise.”

The Pool is comprised of glowing, concentric circles that are supposed to be stepped on. Lewin’s idea is for people to come and play on the installation, which will change colors as you step on the different circles. Tomorrow at the Jupiter Pointe Marina, in Tequesta, Florida is the Lionfish Roundup. This fun event is a unique way to help our local ocean ecosystems manage the over growth of the invasive Lionfish. Diving will begin tomorrow at 7 in the morning.
