Every year on the second and third weekend of October, the American German Club of the Palm Beaches hosts it traditional Oktoberfest event. This year the event taking place October 13th,14th, and 15th, and again on October 20th, 21st, and 22nd.
The event is held on Lantana Road in Lake Worth, under a large pavilion and massive tents. The “Original Oktoberfest” tent is one of the largest in the country.
Next to the Christmas tree, Oktoberfest is the most popular German custom that Germany has ever brought to the rest of the world. The Germans, actually Bavarians from the southern region of Germany, celebrated the good times and beers that gradually caught on in many other parts of the world.
This Oktoberfest will feature a traditional Bavarian atmosphere with authentic German meals, imported and domestic beer, along with several different types of liquor, all while listening to live entertainment and having a good time.
The music and entertainment will be provided by the two original Oktoberfest bands from Germany as well as international dance groups performing an German ethnic dance.
Also at the event there will be family-friendly activates with arts and crafts, game and carnival vendors, continuous live entertainment and more.
This year, you can celebrate the German culture and Oktoberfest without leaving Palm Beach County.
