Broward County has 26 miles of coastline, 24 miles of which are monitored for turtle nesting activity by the Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program. Broward County is considered a “medium-density” nesting area by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and hosts an average of 2,000 nests annually.

Sea turtles are marine reptiles that have been around since the time of the dinosaurs, over 110 million years ago. There are seven species of sea turtles worldwide and five species found in Florida. These sea turtles are protected by federal law. Broward County protects sea turtles by supporting efforts to conserve their nesting and in-water habitats.

The Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival will celebrate 32 years of its annual tradition this summer, with a live performance of William Shakespeare's Richard II. Sunday, July 17, 2022, is the last performance of the season in the Jupiter area. Future performances will be held in Royal Palm Beach later this month.

Organizers said if you have only read Shakespeare, you are missing out. “Because it was never written to be read. According to the  Florida Department of Transportation Jupiter's U.S. 1 bridge will be closed starting in the spring of 2023 with plans for a $133 million bridge project. It will result in a completely new bridge by 2026. Florida Department of Transportation offers a first look here.  Jupiter drivers should remain vigilant with all the lanes changes.  Drive carefully and do not get distracted.

Be prepared for lane closures scheduled to last until early August will change the traffic flow on U.S. 1 as crews work on the foundations of the new bridge and reconstructing nearby intersections. 

Until early August, the outside southbound lane on Alternate State Road A1A north of East Riverside Drive will be continuously closed.
