Outdoor Movie Events For Kids

The Jupiter Recreation Department has planned a series of outdoor movies nights for you and the family to enjoy. Gather all the comfortable blankets, chairs, and head out for a night family fun. The outdoor movies start this weekend, and the JTAA’s Jupiter Mustangs football team will be there selling hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, popcorn, drinks, and more, to help support their team and other youth sports.

The free outdoor movies series will take place at its new location in Abacoa’s Community Park fields, make sure to arrive early to get a good spot. The movies will be projected onto a 2-story inflatable movie screen, and will start at dusk, roughly around 6 pm.

Here is a list of the upcoming outdoor family movie events:

Friday, November 10th: “Boss Baby”
Rated PG, this 2017 animated film about the arrival of a new baby and the baby’s impact to the family as told and narrated by the 7-year old brother Tim. Not only does the new baby arrive by taxi wearing a suit but the new siblings face an instant sibling rivalry, that must be placed on hold when Tim finds out his younger brother is actually a baby spy on a secret mission that involves a battle between babies and puppies.

Saturday, January 13th: “Despicable Me 3”
Rated PG, this 2017 animated film is about the mischievous Minions hoping to get Gru back into his life of crime after being fired by the new boss of the Anti-Villain League, but choses to remain retired and travel the world with his long-lost brother. The two siblings find themselves challenged when they come in conflict with the exclusive Balthazar Bratt, a former actor, who wants to take over the world.

Also, Harbourside Place in Jupiter will be hosting outdoor movies nights as well, in their “Movies on the Waterfront” series. The movie will begin at 7 pm at the waterfront amphitheater. Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy complementary popcorn by Cinépolis, and discounts off your bill at BRAVO!, when you mention you are there for the movie.

Friday, November 24th: “The Lion King”
Rated PG, this 1994, Disney animated classic follows the journey of a young lion Simba, escape a wildebeest stampede, set up by his evil uncle, that killed Simba’s father, and steals the throne. The uncle Scar tells Simba to run away and never return, but he returns to his home years later to find his homeland in need of desperate help, due to being under the uncle’s control. The two battle it out and Simba regains his title to the throne and his homeland. The film features classic hits, “Circle of Life”, “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”, “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King”, and more written by Elton John.
