When was the last time you went to a wildlife sanctuary? McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary always has a great adventure waiting. You will encounter over 200 animals during your visit to the sanctuary. They offer tours of the facility which rescues and rehabilitates wild local wildlife.
Some of the big cats at the sanctuary are retired animal actors who are no longer working there are also rescues which the Florida Wildlife Commission have taken away because of lack of permits that are required in Florida. McCarthy’s wildlife sanctuary was involved in rescuing a cougar and a tiger that were seized from a small motel in Orlando turned over to the sanctuary. The owner was arrested. The cougar was renamed “Repo” and the tiger renamed “Slammer” and love their new home!
