County officials will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday, November 4th at 9 am to celebrate the improvements to Jupiter’s Riverbend Park.

The ceremony is free and open to the public, and will take place as part of the annual Pioneer Farmstead Day event that is also being held on November 4th.

The new improvements to the park include: a new kayak launching stand, parking lot, observation areas, and an outdoor picnic pavilion. In addition, public restrooms and drinking water stations will also be part of the new improvements.

Riverbend is becoming the latest recreational hot spot, and with the new improvements that park will give alternatives to driving for bicycle-riders, hikers, kayakers, and equestrians. Riverbend Park connects to the Northeast Everglades Natural Area, Bluegill Trail, Ocean-To-Lake Trail, and Northeast Everglades Trail systems.

Other improvements to the park include:
• Demolishing the bicycle and kayak rental trailer and nearby building
• New building to include public restrooms and staff offices
• Changing the unpaved parking lot into a grassy area
• Observation area
• Reconfiguring the entrance to the park to include paved parking

Riverbend Park is located at 9060 Indiantown Road in Jupiter, and is open every day from sunrise to sunset. The park is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department.
