This past weekend, Waterfront Properties was lucky enough to sponsor the Paws and Reels Fishing Tournament to fundraise for Amber’s Animal Outreach. Over 30 other companies sponsored or donated raffle gifts, and 20 boats registered for the first annual tournament.

Last Thursday, fishing teams and supporters gathered while Rob "The Fly" Navarro and Tournament Director Lacey Hagler went over rules and regulations, and a captain’s dinner was provided by Sailfish Marina.

On Saturday, boats fished from lines in at 6:30 am until scales closed at 2:30 pm in search of the biggest dolphin they could find. Team “Lunatico” earned first place with a 16 pounder caught by Judge Moss, Luke Rinehart aboard “Drink Like A Fish” won second place dolphin at 8.8 lbs, and Kat Flanagan aboard “Wet Load” won third place with at 8.3 lb dolphin (pictured above). Kat Flanagan also took home the title of Top Lady Angler.

Thank you to photographer Michael O’Malley, and to other sponsors including Waterfront Yacht Brokerage, Canvas Designers, Marsh Tacky Carbon, Fly Zone Fishing, SORD Fishing Products, Pelagic Gear, Carey Chen, Magbay Lures, Connley Fishing, Tito’s Vodka, Twisted Trunk, Monster Energy, Clutch and Release, Billfish Bills, Fisherman’s Center, Guanabanas Restaurants, Modern Juice Company, Blue Line Surf and Paddle, Miami Seaquarium, Release Boatworks, and Reel Skipper.
