"Salt Life" is an expression that describes a lifestyle revolving around the ocean. The “salt life” focuses on the ocean for fun activities.  You possibly have noticed bumper stickers on cars up and down the coast as well as in Jupiter. The Town of Jupiter was shaken when two local boys got lost at sea! The AustinBlu Foundation was formed in 2015, in the wake of a tragedy involving two young boaters from Jupiter, on July 24th, 2015. Austin Blu Stephanos was one of those boys and the namesake of this foundation.

The boys virtually grew up on the water, boating, fishing, diving, or swimming nearly every day. They worked at a local tackle shop together. They wrapped up themselves in the "salt life" of the ocean. This Foundation is rooted in Austin’s lifelong love of the sea and his desire to share that love and enjoy the beauty and excitement of the sea at every possible opportunity. Austin's life story is as much a love story as a cautionary tale. The ocean was the love of his life; the lesson of his life is to take every precaution when enjoying the beauty, majesty, and power of the ocean.

It is politely asked that you join their efforts to help people safely experience our oceans' majesty, beauty, and power. Refresh your knowledge of boating safety by attending a Florida Boating Course. This Florida boating safety course meets the State of Florida's requirement for basic boater safety education.
