The Society of Four Arts, 100 Four Arts Plaza,  Palm Beach, is honored to present the “A Shared Legacy: Folk Art in America” exhibit.  This unique exhibition offers a splendid presentation of American traditional art made mainly in rural areas of New England, the Midwest, and the South between 1800 and 1920.

This exhibition showcases more than 60 works by some of the most esteemed 19th-century American artists. Encompassed within the exhibit are rare and very fine portraits by these respected artists.  The exhibition will showcase vivid still life’s as well as representative scenes and landscapes of the time. See original trade signs, as well as animal and figure figures, unique everyday objects and characteristic examples of furniture from the German-American community.

According to curators of the Society of the Four Arts, “they exemplify the breadth of American creative expression during a period of enormous political, social, and cultural change in the United States.”  Delve into the past with current eyes.
