South Florida Fair is Back!

It's that time of year again, where the South Florida Fair Grounds in West Palm Beach transform into a carnival and fair for 17 days.

Gather the family and head to the South Florida Fair starting this Friday, January 12th through Sunday, January 28th. Since the fair started in 1912, each January, over a half a million visitors head to the South Florida Fair for all the fun.

At the fair you’ll find acres of exhibits of over 1,000 vendors selling homemade crafts, more than 200 carnival rides, games, attractions, tons of delicious foods, parades, world-class ice skating, live music from the fair’s concert series, entertainment, and more.

The West Palm Beach based Bulk Candy Store, will be present again this year and is adding 16 flavors of gourmet popcorn, including peanut butter and jelly. The popcorn is not the popular food item returning, also the fan-favorite burgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, fried Oreos, tater tots, and hash brown sandwiches.

This year, the fair will feature the tallest travelling Ferris wheel in North America standing at 155 feet tall, requires special permission from the Federal Aviation Administration, and weighs more than 4,000 pounds. Also, for the first time the fair will have an indoor carousel located in the Expo Center. The theme for this year’s fair is ‘Magical Parades’.

For the past 25 years, the themed parades during the fair are one of the most popular attractions during the 17-day event. This year, the fair will feature 17 different themed parades each night. The parades will re-create and highlight famous parades from around the world, showcasing colorful costumes, authentic music, and decorative floats. Some of the parade themes include: Chinese New Year, Mardi Gras, Carnival, Pirate, Bike Nite, and more.

Tickets are required for admittance, with ride and wristband vouchers sold separately. You can purchase the tickets online or at any Publix Supermarket in advance or at the gate during the fair.
