South Florida loves the arts!  The Art in State Buildings Program attains artwork for new public facilities built within the Sunshine State with state funding. This program requires “that up to .5% of the construction appropriation be set aside to acquire artwork for permanent display in, on or around the facility”.

The Florida Division of Cultural Affairs is Florida's state arts agency and the division feels culture builds Florida. Arts and culture support jobs, tourism and education while contributing to an exciting South Florida.  The Division of Cultural Affairs provides programs, funds, and other resources including grants for: arts in education, museums, theater, dance, and other visual arts programs.

Since the program began in 1979, more than 1,000 works of art have been purchased or commissioned for Florida public spaces. You'll find them in nearly every Florida county, including Palm Beach County.  Art installations are located in state office buildings, courthouses, Department of Transportation complexes, as well as state university and college campuses.
