The State of Florida eligibility groups have been updated. All Florida residents 40 and older are eligible starting March 29.

Palm Beach County COVID-19 statistics recap: 

  • Vaccinations began in Florida on December 14, 2020. There are roughly 22.2 million residents.
    • 2,266,723 people have received the first dose in FL.
    • 2,791,216 people have completed the series (i.e. received the 2nd dose of Maderna or Pfizer or single dose of J&J) in FL.
    • PBC has vaccinated 133,219 (first dose only) people; 250,042 have completed the series. 
  • Florida reported an increase in new cases, but PBC was down:
    • 32,088 new cases in FL up from 31,692 the prior week; up 1.24%
    • 2,265 new cases in PBC down from 2,577 the prior week; down 12% 
  • PBC 7-day moving average of new cases declined to 317 from 362 last week. 
  • PBC 7-day test positivity rate declined to 5.6%…

After nearly a year of waiting, the Covid-19 vaccine is out and ready for distribution. The challenge is finding a place to get it. And how to get it. Hospitals all over have had trouble getting adequate COVID-19 vaccine supplies, but Jupiter Medical Center is providing vaccines when they have them available.

Jupiter Medical Center is offering vaccines to residents of Palm Beach and Martin counties ages 18 to 64 with certain comorbidities. To schedule a vaccine, contact your physician.  Your doctor must submit the Physician Validation Form and provide the patient’s email address and cell phone number.  Then Jupiter Medical Center will contact eligible patients to schedule the vaccine when they have vaccine supply.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced additional COVID-19 vaccine sites.  The latest statistics for South Florida are as follows. There are 1,868,772 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Florida. 30,434 people have died. There are 117,559 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Palm Beach County. 2,394 people have died.  Demand for the COVID-19 vaccine is far more than the supply the state has received so far. It is anticipated that additional supplies will be coming soon.

This morning Governor DeSantis visited Jupiter to announce that all 67 Publix pharmacies in Palm Beach County are getting ready to offer the COVID-19 vaccine beginning later this week.  The Town of Jupiter, located at 210 Military Trail, Jupiter, released the following update:

“Vaccines will be provided by appointment only through Publix system, based on availability.  Publix is maintaining a COVID-19 vaccination page where they are updating information when new vaccine locations are added and appointments are available.

Palm Beach County issued a COVID-19 Vaccine update January 8, 2021. The statement issued by the county has been reposted verbatim in its entirety.

 South Florida Publix Supermarkets has issued a mask mandate. The major grocery retailer announced Thursday each customer will be required to wear face coverings starting Tuesday, July 21, 2020. Publix feels it is their way to contribute to keep the community healthy and safe.

With the number of coronavirus cases continuing to grow and current CDC guidelines, signs announcing the new requirement will be posted at store entrances, and in-store announcements will be made.

As you know, the Bahamas is currently requiring any boats travelling there to have a clean bill of health. Below is a resource who offers house calls to marinas and boats for COVID-19 testing. The following info has been re-posted verbatim to prevent misinterpretation.
