The American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization, is urging animal lovers to be a hero to dogs, young and old, this Adopt-A-Dog Month. Since 1981, American Humane has celebrated Adopt-a-Dog Month each October to help the millions of dogs waiting in overcrowded shelters for the loving, forever homes that they deserve. Throughout October, the public can visit AmericanHumane.org or follow American Humane’s social media channels to find resources and advice on preparing a home for a new canine companion. The Florida Department of Transportation located at 605 Suwannee Street, Tallahassee has announced lane closures on Indiantown Road Bridge, Jupiter, for the next two weeks. View the interactive map or look for more information on active projects, future projects, plans, and studies here.

From Monday, October 17, 2022, through Friday, October 21, 2022, and from Monday, October 24, 2022, through Friday, October 28, 2022, there will be daily lane closures along the Indiantown Road bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway as FDOT crews perform bridge repairs and maintenance. The closures will occur daily from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.

The Mall at Wellington Green located at 10300 West Forest Hill Boulevard, Wellington is hosting Halloween events. October 31, 2022, is all Hallows' Eve or All Saints' Eve.  It is a celebration observed in various countries. On the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. It begins as the observance of dedication to remembering the dead, including saints, referred to as “hallows” and, martyrs, and all the departed.

Academics believe Halloween began solely as a Christian holiday. Being the wake of All Hallows Day, its influence spread to other countries by the late 20th and early 21st century.  The Mall at Wellington Green is celebrating the holiday with the following activities on Saturday, October 29, 2022

Pumpkin Towne pumpkin patches in Jupiter, as well as in the Wellington community. They are open as of October 6, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., while supplies last. Pumpkins are wonderfully adaptable. Palm Beach County has declared annually every second Saturday in December to be Andrew “Red” Harris Artificial Reef Day! The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation was created to honor the memory of Andrew Harris, a Jupiter resident, who was struck by a boat while snorkeling in the Jupiter Inlet in 2014. The foundation’s mission will help assure the long-term health and vibrancy of the local marine environment where Andrew loved to dive and fish. This will be a day to celebrate Andrew’s life and the reef work done in his memory.

JoJo’s Farmer’s Market is a monthly farmer’s market that is returning to Delray Beach on October 8, 2022. The Palm Beach County fresh market (various locations) will take place at Lake Biwa Pavilion Park, 16801 South Jog Road at the entrance of Morikami Museum. Fun for the family at the Rock-n-Fall Festival. This two-day community festival that kicks off the fall season with great family fun, a variety of craft vendors, cold beer, merchandise, and a nice selection of savory foods.

The event is FREE and will include a Ferris wheel, a petting zoo, and Halloween fun featured at Rock-N-Fall Festival in Royal Palm Beach. Rock-n-Fall fest will take place October 8 and 9, 2022 between 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and includes live rock music.
