The Fall leaves do not change color here in Palm Beach County unless you consider palms turning from bright green to brown.  While fall is known as a sweater, pie, and soup season, for most of the country, it should also be known as the ultimate beverage season, too. Halloween is less than two weeks away and many Halloween events and parades have returned to South Florida this year after being postponed last Halloween.

Here are just some of the great Halloween events happening this year.

Pumpkinpalooza: Thursday, October 28th through Sunday, October 31st at The Palm Beach Zoo. Tickets are required. 

Franken Fountain Light Show: Thursday, October 28th at the Centennial Foundation on Clematis Street.

Here are some interesting facts about the month of November.

The name November originally translates into the “ninth month” in Latin and was the ninth out of ten months of the original Roman Calendar back in 45 BC. Years later when the Julian calendar was adopted two extra months were added and November was pushed back to be the eleventh month of the calendar year.

November is the last month of four months to have 30 days. The other months that have just 30 days are April, June, and September.

Not only is this Saturday Halloween, but a rare Blue Moon will light up the night’s sky. A blue moon does not always appear to be blue in the sky, but rather when it occurs.

As many know, a full moon usually occurs once a month and when 13 full moons occur in one year instead of the normal 12, that is considered to be a blue moon. There are two types of blue moons, a full moon can be considered blue when it is the second of two full moons in a month, or when it is the third of four full moons in a single season.

Halloween is right around the corner and there is still time to get your perfect bright round orange pumpkin this weekend. This Friday through Sunday, Rosemary Square in West Palm Beach is transforming their square into a festive pop-up Fall Festival.

The pop-up will feature The Garden Shoppe and the Birdie Floral Truck. The two will feature hundreds of pumpkins ranging in size and dried floral arrangements for the perfect fall décor. The Birdie Floral Truck will be on site on Saturday and Sunday this weekend while The Garden Shoppe will be there this Friday through Sunday.

This year, the Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fair Grounds is hosting their annual Halloween event, Spookyville. Spookyville will include a drive-thru trick-or-treat cruise, fair foods and special treats available to go.

Starting this Friday, October 23rd through Halloween night, Spookyville is taking over Yesteryear Village for the fun, family-friendly Halloween event. The drive-thru trick-or-treat section will include familiar Halloween faces, Halloween songs, Halloween figures and actors, and tons of candy all while remaining in the car.

Traditional holiday events might look a little different this year, but the Town of Jupiter is planning to bring some holiday magic to families. The Recreation staff has come up with the idea for Holiday Activity Boxes for the upcoming holiday season.

Beginning today, Monday October 19th, Holiday Boxes will be available to purchase online or at the Jupiter Community Center. The Holiday Boxes will feature Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Winter Fun boxes. The boxes will be filled with art projects, cooking projects, treats, activity booklets, games, and more.

The boxes are $15 dollars each ($10 dollars for each additional sibling) and is available to purchase online today. Currently the Halloween Activity Box is the only box to purchase starting today.…
