The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation has been building reefs off the Palm Beach County coastline for several years. The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation was created to honor the memory of Andrew Harris, a local young man, who was struck by a boat while snorkeling in the Jupiter Inlet. Andrew loved to dive and fish, and the foundation’s work will help ensure the long-term health and vibrancy of the local marine environment.

The foundation began a substantial education initiative in 2018. The goal was to donate a 5-book set of the “Professor Clark the Science Shark” series to every third-grade classroom in Florida, 55,000 books in all! The goal was met!

Children love the story of the little boy, Andrew, who becomes a lifelong friend with an orphaned…

1. Go kayaking at one of these parks

Kayaking is one of the most tranquil activities to experience on the water. You can go tandem with a friend in a two-seater or you can go alone and listen to some tunes on a bluetooth speaker. Kayaking puts you super close to the water's surface, so you can see manatees, dolphins and turtles swim right up next to you. Some of the best places to rent a vessel and take a refreshing paddle include Peanut Island, Okeeheelee Park, Jonathan…
