The beaches may be closed for the Fourth of July weekend but that doesn’t mean you still can’t have fun and celebrate the holiday weekend here in Palm Beach County. Downtown Palm Beach Gardens, formally known as Downtown at the Gardens is back open and ready for you to come to dine and shop at one of several shops, boutiques, hair salons, movie theater, and restaurants.

The outdoor shopping and lifestyle center underwent a name change in the beginning of the year. In addition to the name change more stores and restaurants will be coming to the Downtown. Currently under construction is the new Lifetime Athletic Center, a resort style fitness center that will feature 3-stories of fitness classes, a rooftop bistro, and a spa.

The Downtown at the Gardens opened in 2005 with Whole Foods and Cobb Theaters as its anchor stores. The name change comes as an opportunity to celebrate the city. Downtown Palm Beach Gardens

Things are starting to get back to normal at The Gardens Mall. The two-story mall located in Palm Beach Gardens reopened Friday, May 15th for shoppers after being closed for nearly two months.

The Gardens Mall joins Boca Raton’s Town Center Mall and The Mall at Wellington Green which opened earlier this month and the Palm Beach Outlets among the list of major retailers to reopen in Palm Beach County.  

All mall employees will wear masks and every day when before their shift begins will have their temperature checked. Tables have been moved in the food court to allow for social distancing and cards are placed on tables to let customers know it have been clean and sanitized. The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens is reopening their doors to shoppers starting today. The mall closed in the middle of March due to Covid-19 and has gotten to approval from the Governor to reopen. 

Recently the mall sent out survey’s to mall customers on tips and feedback on how they should reopen and what shoppers should expect to see when the mall opens back up. The results from the survey found that shoppers are anxious to get back to the mall. 

The mall is offering: curbside and home delivery, reduce seating in the food court, signs on table in the food court noting that table has been sanitized and cleaned, mall employees will have sanitizing products and wear masks at all times, opening doors for guests, suspended valet service,

The popular Palm Beach Gardens mall is hoping to receive the okay from the Governor to begin their own reopening process.  If the State of Florida continues to reopen like it has been doing, The Gardens Mall is planning on reopening their doors by Monday, May 18th.

Today, Tuesday May 5th is both Cinco de Mayo and Taco Tuesday. Cinco de Mayo or May 5th, is an annual celebration to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862.  The Mexican Army was led under General Ignacio Zaragoza.

Cinco de Mayo is typically celebrated with tons of food, music, folkloric dancing, battle reenactments, parades and is honored and observed by many around the world. This year, mostly all Cinco de Mayo celebrations have been cancelled due to the pandemic but many local restaurants around northern Palm Beach County are open for take out for you to celebrate remotely.

While the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens is temporarily closed to shoppers and visitors, the Food Court and several restaurants are open for take out and delivery. 

For food delivery’s, orders can be placed online through Delivery Dudes, PostMates, Door Dash, Uber Eats or directly from the restaurant.

2. P.F. Changs: Located on the first floor of the mall, near Nordstrom’s is open for take out and delivery.

Palm Beach Gardens newest residential neighborhood has added more shops and restaurants to its Town Center. Alton’s Town Center is located on Donald Ross Road, east of Interstate 95.  The Town Center is being developed as an entertainment and retail destination within the neighborhood. 

So far businesses are booming at Alton’s Town Center with the new shops and restaurants expected to open in the next few months. Currently, Alton is home to a PetSmart, Publix, Lyrnoa’s, Juniors barber Shop, Panera Bread, Longhorn Steakhouse, Chase Bank, Bolay, LemonShark Poke, Raw Juice Bar , LA Fitness and more. More proposed tenants are expected to open in the coming months.

The Gardens Mall is a popular destination for both locals and visitors in Palm Beach County and Palm Beach Gardens. The two-story enclosed shopping mall opened in 1988 and has become an upscale shopping destination. 

The mall features 1.4 million square feet of space with over 160 boutique, specialty shops, restaurants and more to come. The Gardens Mall features five anchor stores Sear’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue. Recently the mall has added new shops, restaurants and boutiques to their directory.  Some of the new retail stores include Peloton, South Moon Under, Carmen Sol, Kendra Scott, Tesla and True Food Kitchen.

Sunday: 12 pm to 6 pm

Monday through Saturday: 10 am to 9 am.
