The worldwide recognized Kips Bay Decorator Show House is a highly esteemed design event. The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation has been building reefs off the Palm Beach County coastline for several years. The Andrew “Red” Harris Foundation was created to honor the memory of Andrew Harris, a local young man, who was struck by a boat while snorkeling in the Jupiter Inlet. Andrew loved to dive and fish, and the foundation’s work will help ensure the long-term health and vibrancy of the local marine environment.

The foundation began a substantial education initiative in 2018. The goal was to donate a 5-book set of the “Professor Clark the Science Shark” series to every third-grade classroom in Florida, 55,000 books in all! The goal was met!

The first "Friends of Jupiter Beach" beach cleanup is slated for this Saturday January 15th from 8:00 A.M.  to 10:00 A.M. at Ocean Cay Park in Jupiter. Volunteers and supporters of the environment are invited to meet at the Anita Lankler Pavilion. The beach cleanup helps maintain our beaches for generations to come. For more information visit the FJB Facebook page. The volunteers will clean a 2 1/2 mile stretch from the Juno Beach Pier to the southern edge of Carlin Park. The specified crossovers are at 22-59.

The Club at Ibis has a very special connection with the Jack Nicklaus family.  It is the only private country club that features three Nicklaus family designed golf courses. The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, located at 1451 South Olive Avenue, is currently closed for renovations.  The renowned museum which has been moving toward its $100 million capital goal, made a big leap with a $16 million donation from philanthropist, seasonal Palm Beach resident and self-made hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin.

It comes as no surprise to the art world that Mr. Griffin enjoys collecting art.  However, when Griffin  spent $500 million in February 2016 to buy two paintings by Willem de Kooning and Jackson Pollock he not only made waves in the art market, it was a tsunami!  Because of the donation, the museum will honor Mr. Griffin's name on the new 59,000-square-foot wing, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect
