The Delray Beach Open is back beginning this weekend at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center. The Delray Beach Open is hosted by and they will be celebrating its 31st event this year. 

The Delray Beach Open is an annual stop on the ATP Tour and the tennis stars play for more than 60,000 fans at the event in addition to capturing a television audience from more than 50 counties. 

The event lasts 10 days and begins with an ATP Champions Tour Legends Team event beginning this weekend. The ATP Championship event features the top tennis players form around the world. The Single and Double events begin early next week and will finish with the finals on Sunday, Feburary 19th.

The 4,506 square foot facility features twenty-one self-irrigated Har-Tru® clay courts, a canvas-covered rooftop balcony, and a pro-shop. When times looked gloomy and the pandemic raged on and people struggled, the BallenIsles community stepped up in a big way to extend a helping hand to communities nearby. In the 10 years of the BallenIsles Charities Foundation’s existence, not a year passed in which they did not host a live fundraising event, whether it be a dinner, a golf outing, or party.

North Palm Beach Country Club has announced that they are offering a 2020 Junior Tennis Academy.

Players will improve their tennis skills while learning a sport for a lifetime. New friends will be made while having tons of run. The latest USTA teaching methods will be used to insure the children achieve success, and lessons are designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group, enabling them to play and learn while they build confidence.

The Junior Academy will be split into 3 groups, Red (ages 8 & under), Orange (ages 10 & under), and Green (ages 16 & under).

Starting this weekend, some of the top Tennis Players from around the world will be in Delray Beach for the 2020 Delray Beach Open. The Tennis Open starts on Friday, February 14th and will be in South Florida until Sunday, February 23rd.

The 10-day tournament features past a present ATP World Tour and ATP Champions Tour players. The matches consist of competitions featuring some of the top-ranking tennis professionals in the sport for single and double elimination events at the Tennis Center in Delray Beach. The Delray Beach Tennis Center is hosting the 29th annual Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic on November 9-11th.

The event will benefit Chris Evert Charities in partnership with the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida and The Drug Abuse Foundation of Palm Beach County.

Last year, the eent brought in $800,000 for at-risk children; $24 million since its founding year.

Past celebrity players have included: Former President George H.W. Bush, Matthew Perry, Chevy Chase, Regis Philbin, Jon Lovitz, Brooke Shields, Chuck Norris, Stone Phillips, John Oates, Olivia Newton-John, Don Johnson, Dr. Phil, Gavin Rossdale, Dan Brown, Scott Foley, and many, many more.

The Palm Beach County Women’s Tennis Association (PBCWTA) is preparing for women’s tennis league matches to begin on October 16th with a pro luncheon on September 24th at Mirasol Country Club. Tennis Directors and Tennis Pros will meet to represent each club and speak about the coming season.

The 2018/19 league consists of 7 divisions and one open division. Matches begin on October 16th and run through April of 2019.
