For 30 years, the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter has been responsible for the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of thousands of animals back into their natural environment since opening. Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, the largest such facility in Palm Beach County reintroducing endangered and core species back into our fragile ecosystems. Here are three wildlife sanctuaries you can visit in Palm Beach County...

The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, 2500 Park Drive in Jupiter is a great place to visit. Here, there are nature trails where you may spot deer.  The enclosed sanctuary areas contain otters, alligators, turkeys, turtles, panthers, bald eagles and more. The sanctuary also rehabilitates wild animals and cares for those that have injuries too severe to be reintroduced back into the wild. You can see these animals and learn a lot from the different exhibits and tour for a small donation.  Busch Wildlife Sanctuary if open to the public, Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. rain or shine!

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, 2500 Jupiter Park Drive in Jupiter, received a $20,000 grant to fund environmental education. The grant, awarded by the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation, is intended to fund virtual fields trips for children in schools across Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.  This generous donation from the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation will impact up to 1,000 children in 40 classrooms. 

The program is a STEM curriculum-based project and will enhance the children’s science courses to keep them involved with nature. About the Center

The Loxahatchee River Environmental Center opened in Jupiter on August 23, 2008. Every Tuesday and Thursday the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach hosts a fish-feeding program for kids! This free program takes place at the Mangrove exhibit, which displays the habitats of Florida’s coastal ecosystems.

This is a great event for kids looking to learn about local plants and wildlife. Attendants will see a live feeding and listen to a guide explain the marinelife. This hands on event is a great way for kids to experience some of the more interesting aspects of biology and science, there are few things more important in a child’s education than teaching him or her that learning can be fun and interesting. The fish feeding at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a big step in that direction.

Check out The Manatee Lagoon in West Palm Beach where guides will give you a walking tour of the Lagoon’s exhibits as well as provide insight into our local marinelife ecosystem. Tours can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
