The new United States Polo Association Clubhouse was opened January 26 for the 2019 equestrian season with rave reviews. The clubhouse, located at 3667 120th Avenue South, Wellington is a unique experience for their clothing brands to be showcased. The designs are inspired by the sport of kings and the shop offers merchandise from the USPA's official licensed brands, U.S. Polo Association and Gauntlet of Polo.

Polo is considered amongst the oldest organized sports ever played. It was a sport played by royals and noblemen. In 1876 the sport emerged from England and introduced in the United States.  It didn’t take long for America to take a liking to the sport. Throughout the twentieth century, enthusiasm for the sport was rampant.  During the decades of the World Wars, over 1,200 military players from the U.S. Army were playing polo.  The military men were encouraged to partake in polo to advance their riding abilities.  Interest continued to peak and all the way up to the White House.  President Theodore Roosevelt even took up the game. Interest in polo is on quickly inclining trajectory.

Polo and brings a fun interactive experience for enthusiasts, players and members of all ages. The shop will be open every Sunday from 12pm – 7pm and select Fridays and Saturdays.  A sanctioned event calendar is still being finalized and will consist of various interactive experiences.  As a family friendly destination, it will have fun things such as a “selfie station, mallet painting, face painting, artistic creations, book signings, tutorials on the sport and many more surprises.”

Whether you want to do some shopping, cool off, watch live polo on the televisions, or relax on the patio. The atmosphere of the USPA Clubhouse will be enjoyable and for the young at heart.  For more information please visit at www.uspolo.org.
