The Winter Equestrian Festival at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, just west of West Palm Beach, host its annual winter equestrian event starting this January 10th and lasting until April 1st.

The 12-week equestrian competition offers competitions for children, juniors, adult amateur’s, and professional equestrians in 70 divisions. Participants and more than 6,000 horses complete during the course of the competition for over half a billion dollars in prizes. During the three months, the longest running and largest horse show, sees the best riders in their class from more than 42 countries.

The shows start on Wednesday’s and finish on Sunday’s, which major competitions in the arena daily and on Saturday nights. There is a special Saturday Night Lights Grand Prix show featuring jumping events and more. Admission to the horse shows are free and no tickets are required. All of the events are rain or shine, with some of the best competitions are done in the rain.

The center is kid friendly featuring fun and entertaining kid activities such as face painting, dance contests, pony rides, a petting zoo, live music, and more on Saturday nights. Also, there is a range of affordable foods available for purchase to enjoy while watching the shows.

In addition to the horse shows, the grounds cover more than 140 acres featuring boutiques, restaurants, art galleries, jewelers, and children’s areas.

The Palm Beach International Equestrian Center is located at 3400 Equestrian Club Drive in Wellington.
