Opening today is a cool new exhibition called “LIT” at the famous Old School Square in Delray Beach. Presented by the Cornell Art Museum, LIT is a showcase of artwork in the medium of light. LIT will be featuring the work of sixteen different artists who are recognized on a global platform in the art world. the art installations by these artists have been featured in galleries and museums around the world.

Do you want to know whether you are the tortoise or the hare? Give it your best shot with family and friends at the 26th Annual Turtle Trot 5K in Jupiter. 

The celebrated, annual Turtle Trot 5K Run put on by the Town of Jupiter is taking place on May 7th and the race starts at 7:30am. The Turtle Trot participants must check in at Ocean Cay Park in Jupiter.

Details on the race are as follows: The main Turtle Trot is a “flat out, back and forth” 3.1 mile long race. The competitors will run along the beach road all competing for the first place title. But if you aren’t into racing flat out don’t worry, joggers and walkers are applauded to partake and completion is a celebrated title (both the tortoises and the hares are welcome here!).

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) met in Jupiter, Florida and determined to approve a two part invasive lionfish plan to encourage to remove the species.

As many people who live in Florida know and understand the potential negative impacts the invasive species in putting on our wildlife and native habitats. The FWC is encouraging divers and anglers to help remove from the Florida waters whenever it is possible.

Located within beautiful Palm Beach County is the picturesque city of Palm Beach Gardens.  Palm Beach Gardens prior to development was forest, cattle ranches and outlying was swamplands.  In 1959, land developer John D. MacArthur announced plans to build a community and would build homes for 55,000.  He planned on naming the soon to be built city Palm Beach City.  The Florida State Legislature rejected the name and he renamed the proposed city Palm Beach Garden.
