The YMCA has announced that Emmitt Smith will be the keynote speaker at the 10th Annual Prayer Breakfast this December.

Smith became NFL’s all-time leading rusher during his fifteen seasons as a professional football player during the 1990s and 2000s. He is a three-time Super Bowl Champion, and NFL Hall of Famer, and of course- winner of season 3 Dancing with the Stars.

The YMCA’s Prayer Breakfast is held annually to ignite inspiration within the community in support of the organization’s mission- to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the ability to learn, grow, and thrive. Fireball Alert: No, not “that” Fireball!  Look up in the Jupiter evening sky tonight to hopefully, witness a celestial fireball. November is a busy month for the night sky.  A fireball is an alternative term for a very bright meteor, generally brighter than magnitude -4, which is about the same magnitude of the brightest planet, Venus, in the morning or evening sky.  Then there is a bolide. That is a distinct type of fireball which explodes in a bright flash when it reaches the atmosphere, usually with visible disintegration.

The American Cancer Society has announced that professional golfer Jack Nicklaus, known as the “Golden Bear”, will be hosting the organization’s 50th Annual 19th Hole Club fundraiser this November.

The American Cancer Society’s 19th Hole Club was founded 50 years ago by Nicklaus, Bob Hope, and Perry Como to help raise crucial funds to fight cancer.

Since its inaugural event in 1968, more than 80 PGA and LPGA TOUR players have hosted the affair. It has since evolved from an exhibition match in the 1960s, to a luncheon and golf clinic in the 1980s, to what is not a social soiree with an open bar, refined chef-prepared food, a glow-in-the-dark putting contest, a chipping contest, and a silent auction.
