A mere 10 miles from the resort lies The Breakers Rees Jones Course, a stunning expanse of green dotted with blue ponds. It’s a modern complement to our traditional Ocean Course, pursued by seasoned players and beginners alike.

Originally built in 1968, the course was reconstructed in 2004 as one of the premier golf experiences in the southeast United States, reflecting the signature style of eminent course architect Rees Jones.

This contemporary course caters to every level of golfer and provides multiple options, thanks to its large fairways, challenging water carries, varied pin positions and five sets of tees. Please note: for your convenience, complimentary shuttle service is provided from the resort to The Breakers Rees Jones Course.

It is adjacent to the Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park, site of two 1838 battles of the Second Seminole Indian War, and the Loxahatchee River, designated a National Wild and Scenic River, runs through it. There are 7 miles of equestrian trails and about 10 miles of walking trails. Fishing and picnicking areas, too.

Independence Day is coming up this Saturday and many are wondering how they can celebrate while still practicing safe social distancing

Watch on TV

Many cities have canceled their festivities, and with that, the main draw: fireworks. But some are moving forward. Your best, and safest, bet is to watch either in your backyard or on a TV or computer screen. No, it won’t be as good as the real thing. But it’s a small price to pay for your health and safety.

In New York City, Macy’s fireworks show, a spectacle that usually beckons residents to rooftops and parks on July 4, will take place on several unspecified nights from Monday through the holiday, with each display lasting only five minutes. They will be set off from unannounced locations

Although South Florida gyms are now open, some are still choosing to avoid them in favor of working out at home or, worse, doing nothing physical at all.

There is a direct relationship between your diet, physical activity, and health. Your nutrition is a key player when it comes to physical, mental, and social well-being. And it’s important for preventing disease.

Here are some tips to start being physically active at home:

Focus on weaknesses

As a general rule, you always want to have an intention before starting a workout routine or program. This pinpoints what you’re not good at, and therefore what you are trying to improve. I summarized a few abilities I think people at home, both young and older populations, should focus on.

The Seminole Wars, also known as the Florida Wars, were a series of three battles between the Seminole Indians and the U.S. military from 1816-1858. They were the longest, most expensive Indian wars in U.S. history both monetarily and in human lives lost.

They began in the early 18th century when General Andrew Jackson led excursions on the north and west sides of Florida, forcing the Seminoles and other tribes to move to one large preservation in the center of the state. The government began building forts and trading posts in native territories enforcing the movement of the Indians by treaty. Their resistance began the First Seminole War in 1816.

In 1830 the Indian Removal Act sparked the second war as it required all natives to move to

Landscaping the Florida-Friendly way means using low maintenance plants and environmentally sustainable practices. Here are a few of the ways you can improve your home’s landscaping.

Water infrequently but thoroughly

Most lawns need about 3/4 to 1 inch of water once per week, or once every two weeks when the weather cools. Water can come from rain, or from irrigation. Infrequent but deep watering encourages deep rooting, as well as healthier and hardier plants with a greater tolerance for drought.

Water at the right time of day

Water early in the day, especially in warmer weather, when evaporation rates are lowest.

Watch your lawn instead of a schedule or calendar

Your lawn needs watering when:

Palm Beach County residents will soon find reusable face masks in their mailboxes. Each package, which will be sent out in early July, will have two cloth and two disposable masks.

Palm Beach County residents are required to wear masks in public places in all but a few instances including exemptions for children under 2, people with medical conditions for whom masks can be dangerous, or for religious reasons.

The mask can come off if someone is actively eating at a restaurant, exercising at the gym, physically distanced from others at a park, beach, boat or golf course, but masks must be worn when coming and going from these places or when others are within close proximity.

There’s no designated registration or card that will prove that a
