The annual Sweet Corn Fiesta is coming up this Sunday at Yesteryear Village in the South Florida Fairgrounds. The festival is a celebration of Palm Beach County sweet corn spring growing season with those who make it happen!

There will be children’s games, music, a corn-eating competition and lots of locally grown sweet corn to eat. There also will be food vendors, rides and corn shucking competitions for children and adults. Contests begin at 1 p.m.

Adult admission is $10. Admission is $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children younger than 5. An unlimited ride wristband is $5. Parking is free.

The Hobe Sound Nature Center is celebrating Earth Day this Saturday with a great celebration for kids. Scheduled activities include the highly popular HOOK KIDS ON FISHING program for kids 6 to 16 with a parent. Co-sponsored by Anglers for Conservation, this event teaches techniques and tips for young anglers plus provides equipment to continue their new hobby with their families.
