The game offshore this weekend goes to sailfish, snappers, and gaffers. Sailfish are strong just in time for the Dust ‘Em Off Tournament, with releases in the double digits off of Palm Beach. Kite fishing with live goggle-eyes or blue runners in 100-300’ should entice a few sails. While dolphin schoolies are abundant, a few gaffers have been chasing ballyhoo and bonita strips in the 150-600’ range. Trolling with small feathers during lowlight should help you catch a few football-sized blackfin tuna, and the smaller ones can be used to catch wahoo. If you're thinking of heading to the Bahamas for the first time, read "How to Cross From Florida to the Bahamas By Boat".

Large mutton snapper have been pretty hot lately, with plenty of yellowtail action on…

Veterans Day marks an important day in U.S. history- the anniversary of the end of World War I.

In 1919, President Wilson commemorated the first Veterans Day (then known as Armistice Day) with these words: “To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…”

On this day every year, we honor U.S. Veterans and victims of all wars, and businesses all over America show their gratitude by offering discounts and freebies like the ones below. If you’re a…

The YMCA has announced that Emmitt Smith will be the keynote speaker at the 10th Annual Prayer Breakfast this December.

Smith became NFL’s all-time leading rusher during his fifteen seasons as a professional football player during the 1990s and 2000s. He is a three-time Super Bowl Champion, and NFL Hall of Famer, and of course- winner of season 3 Dancing with the Stars.

The YMCA’s Prayer Breakfast is held annually to ignite inspiration within the community in support of the organization’s mission- to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the ability to learn, grow, and thrive. The Y has a goal of never turning away an individual or family for needed programs or services because of their inability to pay.
