Here are some interesting facts about the month of November.

The name November originally translates into the “ninth month” in Latin and was the ninth out of ten months of the original Roman Calendar back in 45 BC. Years later when the Julian calendar was adopted two extra months were added and November was pushed back to be the eleventh month of the calendar year.

The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter has recently launched a podcast called “Inside Busch Wildlife Sanctuary”. New podcast episodes will be launched on the first Monday of every month and will be available on all podcast streaming platforms.

The monthly podcasts will introduce listeners to one of the sanctuary’s permanent residents, educational animals’ ambassador, and the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary handlers. During the podcast, the host will guide the listeners through the daily animal encounters while accompanied by the sanctuary staff. The podcasts hope to educate the subscribers on the sanctuary mission while having a little fun along the way.

If you still have left over Halloween candy from over the weekend, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is once again hosting their autumn Wrapper Recycling Drive.

The Wrapper Recycling Drive is in its fifth year, and the program is meant to raise awareness of the amount of plastic waste that is used during the holiday season. To participate in the program is simple. Simple bring all your empty wrappers to either a drop off location or the Loggerhead Marinelife Center. The empty wrappers will then be sent to a New Jersey based recycling company that turns the recycled wrappers into school supplies and other goods.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach hosts their popular Public Guided Tours everyday for visitors to get an up-close look at the sea turtle rehabilitation and research center.

Visitors will learn about each sea turtle patient housed there during the tours and the Loggerhead Marinelife Staff will be there to answer all of your questions about sea turtles, the ocean, the center itself, and marine life.

The daily Public Guided Tours are offered twice a day due to their popularity. The tours are offered at 12 pm and 2 pm and last approximately an hour. All are welcomed to attend, and the tours cost $10 dollars for adults and $5 dollars for children. The tours are limited to a certain number of people and registration is required online.

Lighthouse Sunset Tour: Wednesday, November 4th, 11th, and 18th

Climb to the top of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse on Wednesday nights and take advantage of the spectacular sunset views and watch the lighthouse turn on to illuminate the sky. In addition, visitors will get an inside look at the Lighthouse Watchroom to see how everything works and learn the history of the lighthouse along the way. The tours last approximately an hour and tickets must be purchased online prior to the event.  The tours start at 4:45 pm.

A beloved Jupiter Mexican style taqueria, PapiChulo Tacos, has opened a new location in Royal Palm Beach. This new hot spot boasts a chill Southern Cali / Baja Coast vibe lust like it’s sister restaurant to the northern end of Palm Beach County on U.S. One.

Both PapiChulo Taco locations serve up the same Mexican-style menu of tasty tacos, nachos, cleverly crafted cocktails, desserts and more! The new location just celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Located at 1005 N.
