In the face of an epidemic, we are uncertain how to respond. Let’s all take a deep breath and long exhale.

Last week the PGA Tour, in a joint statement with the USGA and the PGA of America, laid out their plan for how they envision the remainder of the 2020 golf calendar looking moving forward.

As of now, all PGA Tour events have been cancelled until the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial May 21. In addition, the Open Championship and Olympic golf event have both been cancelled and the other three majors (the Masters, US Open, and PGA Championship) have all been postponed until later in the calendar year. 

With the announcement, we now know when those three majors will be held, along with the Tour's plan for how they will handle the remainder of the year.

The Premier Golf League was supposed to be the golf league of the future. 18 events featuring the best golfers in the world battling it out every week for money that no other golf league, including the PGA Tour, could even fathom to offer.

Sure, there were some logistical issues, including the morality of where the money was coming from (Saudi Arabia) as well as how it would affect things like the majors and the Official World Golf Rankings. For the most part though, it seemed like a dream come true for golf fans.
