On November 10th, Westchester Country Club in Boynton Beach will be hosting the 9th Annual Golf “Fore” Paws to benefit the Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue.

The rescue’s mission is to reduce the number of homeless dogs and cats from becoming victims to shelter euthanasia, while educating the public on the importance of adoption and spay and neuter in the community. Every animal rescued is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, tested, provided medical care, and placed in a foster home.

To date, the Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue has saved more than 8,000 dogs and cats from being euthanized, has performed over 1,200 surgeries, plus over 6,000 spays and neuters.

The Honda Classic golf tournament donated a phenomenal $4.55 million to South Florida children’s charities in 2018, increasing the PGA TOUR’s impact on the lives of local children for the 12th consecutive year.

Proceeds from the Honda Classic Cares initiative will benefit 137 charitable organizations in Palm Beach County, as well as more than 50,000 children and their families.

Golfers are getting ready for the 21st Annual Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament happening on October 15th at the Boca West Country Club. The tournament was started in 1997 and has tripled in participation over the last decade with 340 golfers attending last year's tournament which raised $465,000 for the foundation.

Earlier this week, famous course designer, Jack Nicklaus and his wife, Barbara, opened the Golden Club Mini Golf Course on Main Street in Jupiter.

The course was celebrated on opening day by locals and even some golf pros who found the course a good challenge, with sophisticated turns and elevations that are one-of-a-kind pro designed. The course is the only putt-putt designed by Jack Nicklaus.

The concession stand on the course serves beer, wine, ice cream, milkshakes and lemonade. A dollar from every ticket sale will benefit the Nicklaus Children’s Healthcare Foundation. Brooks Koepka, a Jupiter resident and Cardinal Newman High School graduate, won his second 2018 major title at the 100th PGA Championship on Sunday, totaling three major championships in his young career.

28-year-old Koepka, amongst Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and Jordan Spieth, is the one of five golfers in history to win three or more majors before the age of 29.
