Freddie Jacobson Sets Record at RBC Heritage

On January 23rd, and during the second round of the Humana Challenge, Freddie Jacobson three-putted the 16th hole. Since then, the Patriots have won another Super Bowl, Tiger Woods came back, left, and then came back again, oh and Jacobson hasn't had another three-putt.

In the second round of this past week's RBC Heritage, the Hobe Sound resident broke Luke Donald's record of 483 consecutive holes without a three putt. He didn't stop there though. He went all four rounds without a three putt and heading into his next event his total is at 524. Jacobson is first in three-putt avoidance at .65 percent (the tour average this season is three percent) and he's third in strokes gained/putting.

OFFSHORE: The South Florida fishing action out deep has been a bit scattered far offshore. Closer in, is where you will find the best fishing action for the springtime. The sailfish bite seemed to slow down a bit due to the lack of current and greener waters. That could change any day as the current changes. The Cobia bite is really good in areas of the sand pile. Lots of fish around South Florida, especially near shallower wrecks in the 70’-90’ foot range. Live baits work outstanding such as crabs, pilchards, pinfish, mullet and shrimp.  On the deep side of the Juno Beach, Florida 180' ledge where is a mixed bag of fish and rudder fish and blue runners have tackled the area. NEW MOVIE THEATER OPENING in JUPITER

The Shoppes of Jupiter, across from the fabulous Harbourside Place, has finally set an inaugural date for the brand new Cinépolis Cinémas in the summer, which was previously known as Paragon Jupiter Cinéma, located on US 1 in Jupiter, Florida.

The new Cinépolis Cinémas is planning on being fully functional and opened by June 2015. The brand new movie theater will consist of about 1,460 available seats and will be having two distinctive concepts for customers to choose from. One concept is going to be offering eight chic but still traditional customary auditoriums with non –reclining leather seats that will be wider than the old-fashioned movie seats. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are asking all beachgoers to keep a look out and do your best not to disturb the shorebirds on the Atlantic coast of Florida.

During spring and summer, shorebirds are beach nesting; they tend to build nests with layers of sand and sea shells found on the beautiful resourceful beaches of South Florida. Due to their camouflage, hatching chicks, as well as the nest and eggs, are challenging to see with possibilities of being trodden on such as birds like the black skimmer, snowy plover and American oystercatcher and more. Congratulations to local North Palm Beach resident, professional golfer and respected philanthropist, Jack Nicklaus!  He has been presented with the Congressional Gold Medal. Both houses of Congress honored Nicklaus with the medal March 25, 2015

CUT in COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE LEASE TAX

The State of Florida Senate Finance and Tax Committee is in support of reducing commercial real estate lease tax.  The bill (SB 140) recommends reducing the current 6% tax on commercial real estate leases to 5%.  This reduction makes Florida even more attractive, in addition to the perfect weather and beautiful beaches, for homeowners and business owners.

Under the bill, the cut would take effect January 1, 2016.  Reduction in the state tax commercial real estate lease percentage will allow Florida to compete for businesses to move to the state.
