With the mullet run being the highlight of the past couple of weeks, most fishing has been geared toward snook, large tarpon, and amberjack chasing schools through inlets, inshore, on the beach, and at the Juno Pier. Your trustiest bait is live mullet itself, which can be found during low light periods of the day away from boat traffic. Everyone in Jupiter has seen the PonTiki boats cruising around the Jupiter Intracoastal during sunset. The only thing better than the Phat Panda's logo of a chubby panda on a surf board is their appetizing menu of tasty cultural food! The Phat Panda is a brand new spot on Donald Ross Road in Juno Beach that has a casual atmosphere and a simple menu packed with flavor.

The River Center provides a fun educational opportunity for visitors to learn about the unique Loxahatchee River system, from freshwater Cyprus swamp to the seagrass dominated estuary and marine ecosystems.

If you think you’ve got what it takes to capture the flora and fauna of the unique Florida outdoors, the Loxahatchee River Center is holding an open amateur photo contest until Tuesday, October 16th.

The competition is comprised of two age categories; Youth (17 & under) or General Amateur (18 & up), and will award winners in three content categories; flora, fauna, and human interaction.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category, and winning photographs will be displayed at the River Center and on their website.

The Loxahatchee River Center is located on the southeast side of Burt Reynolds Park on US1 and features over 6,000 gallons of fresh and saltwater aquariums, interactive kid-friendly exhibits, and even a “touch tank” where children can meet some of Florida’s friendly creatures up close.

From September 1st through May 31st, the Center is open Tuesday – Wednesday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday – Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. From June 1st through August 31st, the Center is open Tuesday – Saturday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

On Thursday, September 20th, the Loxahatchee River Center will be holding a home school workshop entitled “Shark Senses and Habitat” from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

This drop off only program will include a hands-on activity about sharks, and is geared towards children ages 5-11. Registration is required to attend, and cost is $3 per child.

On September 23rd, Eau Palm Beach Resort will be hosting the third annual Burger & Beer Bash to fundraise for Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

Not only will a portion of proceeds benefit efforts to save the sea turtles, but event-goers will have the pleasure of participating as “judges” of burger-and-beer pairings. Eau’s head chefs will partner with local breweries in a friendly competition, and guests will enjoy all pairings before indicating their favorites on a ballot.

Participating area breweries include Due South, Copperpoint, Funky Buddha, SaltWater Brewery and Tequesta Brewing Company.

Jupiter’s only water TOP restaurant has been featured on Food Network’s new show “Food Boats”, and Chef Justin Lindemann is ecstatic.

According to the Palm Beach Post, producers and celebrity Chef Jordan Andino hopped on the Food Yacht in April to shoot the spotlight segment on Lindemann’s small kitchen creations. Lindemann wanted to showcase the locals’ favorite barbecue chicken burrito and lemon pepper seared tuna wrap, but producers insisted on the shrimp BLT and crab cakes.

The New York City film crew had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather and Bahamas-blue water of Jupiter Florida from the 40-foot six-seater restaurant.
