The Jupiter Town Council, Mayor of Tequesta, head of North County Real Estate Board, amongst others are conducting an important public meeting on Thursday, April 17 at 6pm.  The assembly will be held at the Jupiter Community Center, 210 Military Trail Boulevard in Jupiter.

On the agenda will be ample discussion regarding All Aboard Florida (high-speed rail service), Florida East Coast Railway (F.E.C.) and the impact on property values, traffic, safety and boating. All Aboard Florida is proposing 32 passenger trains will run between Miami and Orlando airports, with two stops only in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

The Tortuga Music Festival is this Saturday and Sunday at Fort Lauderdale beach park.  Thousands of people are expected “to rock the beach” in support of marine conservation.

Music and beach lovers are expected to take over the beach this weekend for the “Rock the Ocean, Tortuga Music Festival”.  This is the second year in a row for the concert.  The inaugural concert drew more than 25,000 fans to Fort Lauderdale beach last year.

The petition reached the required 100,000 required signatures and the goal was to “Make Opening Day a National Holiday”.   The petition was sent to President Barack Obama proclaiming that today, March 31, should be declared an official day of national observance in the United States.  March 31, being the opening day games in Major League Baseball.
 
The White House said it is not going to happen because of “a lack of authority to create holidays.”  In an online letter, the White House specified that it is up to Congress to make those decisions.  The 2013 World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox will be honored at the White House.

Fans of the television show “American Horror Story” will be pleased with new details about the upcoming season.  Co-creator Ryan Murphy announced via his Twitter account that the fourth season will be called “Freak Show” and take place during the 1950’s in the small town of Jupiter, Florida.

Set in the seaside Town of Jupiter, during the 50’s, Jessica Lange plays a German ex-patriot who manages one of the last freak shows in the United States.  She and her group of unusual performers are struggling to keep the carnival afloat.

Will “Freak Show” deliver as many thrills as last seasons “Coven”?  Time will tell.  Next season will feature the return of Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, and Angela Bassett.
