Martin County’s largest vegetable garden is Kai-Kai Farms. The owners of Kai-Kai Farms, Carl Frost and Diane Cordeau, were two lab technicians for the University of Florida, Indian River Research and Education Center that met, fell in love, and married in 1988. It was a match made in sustainable farming heaven.

Their love of traveling brought them to the Solomon Islands and pointed them in the direction of what their life’s work would be. Upon reaching the islands, they were greeted by various tribal chiefs and invited for kai-kai. They learned kai-kai meant food gatherings. They learned how they grew vegetables in a very basic way. Polo, the “sport of kings”, is not only for the wealthy and royals in Palm Beach County, it has been a favorite pastime of local Floridians for years. The International Polo Club Palm Beach is located in Wellington, Florida. Wellington is the heart of South Florida’s horse country and the epicenter of international polo.

Are you aware that the historic Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is one of the oldest actively functioning lighthouses in the United States?  Learn everything you wish to learn about this historic treasure with one of the 90 plus volunteers from the Loxahatchee River Historical Society.  The volunteers will share local facts with guests who tour the lighthouse. The Jupiter area United States Coast Guard presents an “About Boating Safely” class on Sunday, April 23, 2016 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The boating safely course is sponsored by the AustinBlu Foundation.
