PROTECT YOUR DIGITAL DATA SECURITY

Last week the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) published tips intended to assist consumers protect themselves from fraud and help them in the event they encounter a problem.

"Phishing" is the activity of defrauding an online account holder of financial information by posing as a legitimate company by criminals.

Almost anyone who uses credit or debit cards has the threat of their credit or personal data being compromised.  A number of major companies over the recent months have reported breaches of data security.  Target, a national retailer, experienced a recent breach of data that could impact tens of millions of consumers, protect yourself!

Honda Classic Commitment List Continuing to Grow

The Honda Classic continues to attract some of the top talent in the professional golf world. This past weekend, Phil Mickelson added his name to the list of players that will be teeing it up at PGA National later this month.

Mickelson, who finished in a tie for 42nd at the Waste Management Phoenix Open this past weekend, will the playing the first event of the Florida swing for the first time since 2002. That year was the final year the Honda Classic was held at the TPC at Heron Bay before the event moved up to Palm Beach Gardens. Mickelson finished tied for 11th that year.

Mickelson, ranked number four in the world, joins “hometown hero” Brooks Koepka who accepted a sponsors exemption last week as well as world number two and defending Masters…

THE FRESH MARKET SHOPS of FISHERMAN’S WHARF

Local Jupiter area “foodies” will delight with the progress of the nationally renowned chain, The Fresh Market, and their local outpost.  

For over 30 years, The Fresh Market, focuses on providing high quality products from around the world.  It started in North Carolina as a tiny little store and grew to over a 100 stores in over 20 states across the nation.

Each store focuses on the customer and the shopping experience.  It has an open-air feel and “an old world charm, stocked with fresh meats, seafood, fruits, and vegetables.  They wanted the store to be a fresh concept in grocery shopping.”

This "European feel" market will be present at the new local site of The Fresh Market in Jupiter and is currently under construction at The Shops at Fisherman’s Wharf…

EDWARD SNOWDEN NOMINATED FOR 2014 NOBEL PEACE PRIZE …???

Yes, you read that correctly, Edward Snowden, who worked as a contract employee at the U.S. National Security Agency in Hong Kong and leaked documents that damaged the security interests of several nations, has been nominated for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize! 

Anyone can be nominated for the prestigious award.  Two Socialist lawmakers Baard Vegard Solhjell, a former environmental minister, and Snorre Valen, both from Norway, jointly nominated the former National Security Agency contractor, stating his disclosures have contributed to making a more peaceful world.

In their nomination letter, the Norwegian politicians stated, “We do not necessarily condone or support all of his disclosures.  We are, however, convinced that the public debate and…

Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize Winning … “A Chorus Line” Dances Into the Jupiter Maltz Theatre until February 2, 2014

U-TIKI RESTAURANT on the JUPITER INLET to OPEN SOON

Adding to the ambiance and charm of the Town of Jupiter and other surrounding waterfront neighboring communities, like Tequesta, North Palm Beach, Juno and Stuart, there will be an additional waterside restaurant to frequent.  Located within the “funky fishing village” of Jupiter Inlet, next to Jetty’s, The Square Grouper, and across the street from Guanabanas, will be U-Tiki.
 
U-Tiki will be an open-air restaurant located at the Jupiter Inlet Marina.  It is tentatively scheduled for a “quiet opening” at the end of January.  The owners originally anticipated a New Year’s Eve opening had the weather and construction schedules cooperated.
