Jupiter’s Downtown Abacoa area is preparing for two nights of events this weekend with open air dining and food trucks.

This month, the popular Food Truck Invasion takes over Town Center Drive tomorrow night, Friday, August 13th for a night of great food from some of the best local food trucks in South Florida. Food Trucks offer a variety of dining options for even the pickiest eater in the family. Some of the menu items include pastries and ice cream, burgers, seafood, Mexican food, specialty dishes, and much more.

On Friday nights during the summer, Downtown Palm Beach Gardens hots their Summer Concert Series at their newly remodeled Downtown Park. The outdoor concerts are free to attend, and all are welcomed to celebrate the start of the weekend.

The concerts feature a variety of regional and local bands and tribute bands playing everything from jazz, rock, pop, reggae, country, contemporary, blues, and everything in between. The concerts begin at 7 pm and go until 10 pm.

Carnivores prepare for a delicious new steakhouse heading toward Jupiter! Truthfully, not a completely “new” restaurant but a sister steakhouse of the renowned Okeechobee Steakhouse.  Owner Ralph Lewis announced he just signed the lease for the former Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant on the corner of Indiantown Road and Central Boulevard. Lewis plans to open Lewis Steakhouse sometime around November 1, 2021. 

Lewis stated “My goal has been to open a restaurant to which I could give some ownership to my longtime employees. For two weeks, visitors and locals will have a chance to savor local cuisine from a wide variety of eateries ranging from high-end restaurants to local neighborhood gems. Restaurants participating in the Restaurant Week have come up with a prix-fix menu and other dining deals to take advantage of.

There is a wonderful new smoothie and soft-serve shop in Delray Beach that is intended for lingering. The little café's name says it all “Joyfull”. Joyfull is an open-air, plant-based smoothie, soft-serve and latte shop located at 2219 Seacrest Boulevard in Delray Beach that opened several weeks ago.

The imaginative healthy cafe was the brainchild of wellness coach, entrepreneur, and former talent manager Leah Landon.  Leah has worked with top entertainers such as Lady Gaga, Fat Joe, Kelis, Eve, Mario and Jadakiss.

Dessert foodies can rejoice! Proper Ice Cream Shop, a gourmet ice cream concept, has just opened a location in Boca Raton. Proper can be found at the park Place Plaza. The ice cream shop offers flavors such as Sicilian pistachio with caramelized figs, blood orange sorbet, key lime pie tart, fresh pear gelato with burnt sugar and many more.

As many artisan crafts begin, proper ice cream started in the home kitchen of owner Rick Felberbaum.  After making several trips to Italy and other “big foodie” capitals such as New York, San Francisco and Chicago left him missing such incredible textures and flavors.
