Baseball is widely known as America’s favorite pastime and it has hit Palm Beach County out of the ballpark.  The baseball enthusiasm began in New York metropolitan area in the mid-1850.  There were 16 area clubs registered with the first governing body of baseball, the National Association of Base Ball Players. The immense mainstreams of boaters that navigate under the Loxahatchee River Railroad Bridge in Jupiter on a daily are widespread.

The Loxahatchee River Railroad Bridge is under a proposal, that the Jupiter Inlet District would be determining whether to strive for federal grant money to increase the clearance allowance under the 90 year old bridge, so that more boats can effortlessly pass under it.

Especially now that All Aboard Florida will soon be taking on the railroads and Brightline’s service is expected to add 32 trains per day on the Florida East Coast Railway tracks.

This idea would only improve the boater’s navigation under the bridge, thus reducing the need to lift it.

Palm Beach County’s first tourists were the early settlers. The area was known as “Lake Worth”, named for Major General William Jenkins Worth.  General Worth fought in the Second Seminole War.

The first permanent residents of Palm Beach County arrived in 1872. They struggled to clear the land for building homes and growing crops.
