Blowing Rocks Preserve in Hobe Sound is a beautiful display of natural Anastasia Limestone rock along the coast of our clear Atlantic waters. This gem of a location is a favorite place for photographers and nature lovers as it is an incredible site to watch the waves spray high over the rocks and observe many forms of marine life flourish near shore in this natural reef habitat.

Every Sunday, staff of the Hawley Education Center at the preserve host free guided tours that are very interesting and enjoyable. Blowing Rocks is a reflection of what South Florida barrier islands looked like a century ago and on the tour you'll learn all about its unique features and what The Nature Conservancy is doing regionally to protect our natural habitats.

On November 17th, The Jupiter Lighthouse is hosting their annual twilight fundraiser, Rendezvous at the Light, 6-9:30 PM.

Join WPTV Chief Meteorologist Steve Weagle for a delightful fundraiser in a truly unique setting overlooking the Jupiter Intracoastal from the grounds of the locally treasured Jupiter Lighthouse. Guests will enjoy delectable food and refreshments, as well as a silent auction and an open bar.

All proceeds benefit the Loxahatchee River Historical Society, a 501c3 non-profit organization Keep The Light Shining.

If you enjoy live music, beer, and good times, the best new festival in Jupiter is coming up soon on Saturday, September 29th.

Rocktoberfest is a free music festival with bands playing at the Abacoa amphitheatre and on street stages, with the addition of craft beer trucks, food tents, giant beer pong, artists and craft vendors, and even the Oktoberfest-inspired stein-holding contest. Blackfin Tuna Photo Courtesy Rip Raft Fishing

Dolphin and blackfin tuna have been the most common catches this week, with the usual trolling with ballyhoo, bonita strips, and squid between 500’ and 1000’ around large weedlines for your best chance at putting some mahi filets on the table. Trolling with small feathers around 300’ during cooler times of the day like morning and late afternoon is your best chance at tuna. As usual, kingfish are scattered around the 120’ ledge. Juno Bait has had reports of a few yellowtail snapper showing up as well.

Jupiter’s beloved local landmark, the Jupiter Lighthouse, was authorized by Congress to be built in 1853, and construction of the tower was completed in May of 1860, with the official lighting commenced on July 10th, 1860. From 1860 to 1939, more than 70 different keepers maintained this 108-foot lighthouse, until the civilian lighthouse service merged with the United States Coast Guard in 1939. Military personnel remained its keepers until it was automated in 1987. The Jupiter Lighthouse remains a treasured local landmark and an active Aid to Navigation, with 1 of only 13 active 1st Order Fresnel lenses in the entire United States!

Loggerhead Marinelife Center(LMC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit education and ocean conservation facility located on the Atlantic Ocean in Juno Beach and is one of the most treasured organizations in Florida.
