On Thursday, September 20th, Bluewater Babes Fish For a Cure will host their 10th annual kick-off party at Square Grouper on Jupiter Inlet.

For a $20 donation, guests will receive a Bluewater Babes cup and drink ticket for either a Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktail or a draft beer from Tequesta Brewing Company.

On September 23rd, Eau Palm Beach Resort will be hosting the third annual Burger & Beer Bash to fundraise for Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

Not only will a portion of proceeds benefit efforts to save the sea turtles, but event-goers will have the pleasure of participating as “judges” of burger-and-beer pairings. Eau’s head chefs will partner with local breweries in a friendly competition, and guests will enjoy all pairings before indicating their favorites on a ballot.

Participating area breweries include Due South, Copperpoint, Funky Buddha, SaltWater Brewery and Tequesta Brewing Company.

From Jupiter Boca Raton, Palm Beach County is taking part in the International Coastal Cleanup the weekend of September 15th, and additional volunteers are welcome to join!

Ocean trash is a serious pollution problem that affects the health of people, wildlife, and local economies. Trash in the water can not only injure beachgoers or divers and ensnare boat propellors, but it can kill precious marine life.

In order to help, Ocean Conservancy has started a worldwide clean-up where hundreds of thousands of volunteers comb lakes, rivers and beaches around the world for trash. For over 30 years, more than 12 million volunteers have collected over 220 million pounds of trash.

Food Network celebrity, Chef Jeff Tila, will be in Boca Raton next Friday, September 21st, giving a live demonstration at the St. Andrews Estates retirement community. The event will benefit the Acts Samaritan Fund, which supports residents who outlive their financial resources.

13,000 acres off of Beeline Highway in Palm Beach Gardens will get a fishing pier, nature trails and pavilions for local fishermen, hikers and nature photographers.

The acreage is in the Loxahatchee Slough, the largest nature preserve of the county’s 30+ preserves.

The new hiking, biking and equestrian trails will appeal to the outdoors people.

Earlier this week, famous course designer, Jack Nicklaus and his wife, Barbara, opened the Golden Club Mini Golf Course on Main Street in Jupiter.

The course was celebrated on opening day by locals and even some golf pros who found the course a good challenge, with sophisticated turns and elevations that are one-of-a-kind pro designed. The course is the only putt-putt designed by Jack Nicklaus.

The concession stand on the course serves beer, wine, ice cream, milkshakes and lemonade. A dollar from every ticket sale will benefit the Nicklaus Children’s Healthcare Foundation.
